In November of 2017, the board voted to grant me the honor–and responsibility–of serving as the Chairman of the Board for Bully Bloc, one of the state’s largest PACs. I would be foolish not to recognize those who served before me and made Bully Bloc what it is today. We’ve come a long way since many of you worked tirelessly to grow Bully Bloc from concept to implementation. The efforts of these Bulldogs are now paying off, and Bully Bloc is the only PAC whose primary goal is making a difference for higher education in Mississippi. Previous Chairman Jonathan Lee provided Bully Bloc with outstanding leadership and vastly improved our communications capabilities. I intend to build on the work of board members who have donated countless hours of work to building Bully Bloc into the political machine it has become.
We are right around the corner from statewide and legislative campaigns in 2019. This represents Bully Bloc’s largest chance to make an impact on the university we all love. We have a chance to help elect MSU graduates and supporters to serve in the state legislature. Graduates and supporters whose contributions in the House and Senate help move the needle on funding through state appropriations and state bonding. It is critical that we raise the funds this year in order to support and donate to the candidates we support in early 2019.
I ask you to consider increasing your donation and encouraging friends to donate to ensure that Bully Bloc has the resources to again make an impact in a critical election year. Our endorsements and contributions are made by committee and approved by the board, in the best interest of Mississippi State University. Your contribution now helps us shape the well-being of MSU through the next term (2024) and beyond.
Finally, don’t hesitate to contact me, or any of our board members, with suggestions for improvement. We want to be a strong political organization that is reflective of, and responsive to, the many Bulldogs we represent.
Thanks for your commitment to Bully Bloc and Mississippi State University.
Camp Murphy, Chairman
