SUCCESSFUL SUMMER EVENT

On July 20, the Bully Bloc hosted its largest Annual Summer Event to date at the Jackson Country Club.  We had over 400 guests including members and prospective members.  The members-only reception began at 5:30 pm with Lt. Governor Phil Bryant and Treasurer Tate Reeves.  Other special guests included our endorsed candidate for Treasurer, Lucien Smith, Insurance Commissioner Mike Chaney, Transportation Commissioners Mike Tagert and Dick Hall, and many other House and Senate candidates.

The general reception began at 6 pm, and guests enjoyed themselves while socializing with the endorsed candidates and potential members.  Chairman Spence Flatgard spoke briefly about the importance of our elected officials and the influence that the Bully Bloc will have in the election cycle.

The event was a huge success, and the Bully Bloc is looking forward to growth and influence in the future.

Thank you for visiting the official Bully Bloc website. We want you to join us, and here’s why we need your help now:

The Institutions of Higher Learning and Mississippi State University are up against funding challenges that could adversely impact the mission of MSU.

MSU has endured significant budget cuts in recent years and is facing further cuts in coming years. These cuts will impact many programs and colleges such as the Engineering, Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture and Life Sciences, Research & Extension and Branch Experiment Stations just to name a few.

Further cuts will not only impact their missions but drastically impact our ability to provide the quality of education MSU grads have enjoyed in these schools.

Furthermore, these reductions could reverse the reputation these programs brought to the State of Mississippi and the Nation both through research and economic enhancements.

The result would be a weaker and smaller budget for each of the academic areas of MSU!

While we understand the state is facing budget challenges, MSU supporters and friends must come together NOW to make our voices heard to ensure MSU is strong today and tomorrow.

In the upcoming statewide and legislative elections we need to elect leaders who support proper funding levels for Mississippi’s Institutions of Higher Learning, including MSU.

That’s the reason we have organized a group working together as a “block”—called Bully Bloc—to engage our political leaders to make sure MSU’s interests are protected. Now is the perfect opportunity for you to become actively involved in Bully Bloc.
